Innovative AI and HPC Solutions

We use AI to speed up HPC calculations such as lattice QCD and battery design. We have allocations at ALCF to run AI enabled lattice QCD calculations on Aurora (the world’s third fastest supercomputer) and Polaris. We start thinking about small language model for AI drones and humanoid robots. We leverage the power of an exascale computing software suite called E4S produced by the US Department of Energy (DOE) for HPC education and technology solutions.

Quantum Computing Breakthroughs

We have started working on quantum digital twins using hybrid classical-quantum supercomputers to study the structure of quantum noise. We use Qiskit, PennyLane and CUDA-Q for quantum computing frameworks.

Battery Design Innovations

We plan to use AI and HPC to speed up the material design of battery electrodes, electrolytes and physical layout. At the meantime, we are performing table top experiments on battery design.
